John Lewis is a partner in the Guernsey office of Mourant, working across both the Corporate and ITPC (International Trust & Private Client) practices. John is also the Office Managing Partner of Mourant Guernsey.
John has over 30 years' experience of advising clients in the corporate and finance sectors in Guernsey, the UK and Australia. His practice includes a wide mix of corporate and finance matters, but with a particular interest and expertise in pensions and insurance law.
John is a committee member of GAPP (Guernsey Association of Pension Providers).
John trained and worked as an associate at Allen & Overy in London and Brussels. He then spent eight years in Sydney, split between the pensions and financial services practice of national law firm Minter Ellison and the in-house legal department of Mercantile Mutual Insurance (now ING Group) where he supported their superannuation and life insurance products. He has been working in Guernsey since 2002 and became a partner of Mourant in 2007.
John holds an LLB (Hons) in Law from the University of Birmingham and an LLM in Corporate, Commercial and Taxation Law from the University of New South Wales. He is an Advocate of the Guernsey bar and is also qualified (as a non-practising solicitor) in England & Wales and New South Wales.
